Ricardo Triana is a seasoned professional with more tan 20 years of experience and is well known international speaker and consultant specialized in Leadership, Conflict Management, Strategy and Organizational Project Management.
Mr. Triana has been invited to participate as keynote speaker in several events and congresses in Australia, UK, Japan, Russia, Sweden, China, Taiwan, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Spain, India, the U.S., Netherlands and Latin America among others.
He has also been interviewed by several media outlets such as CNN Spanish, Record TV Brasil, Diario de Uruguay, Reforma de Mexico, Forbes India and has written articles on project management worldwide trends, negotiation, conflict management and strategy in small and medium-sized businesses with magazines across Latin America and Asia such as Expansion, Reforma, El Universal, LiderdeProyecto.com, PMForum.org, Mision PYME, Management Herald among others
A PMP® credential holder, Mr. Triana has worked for private and government organizations accross North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. He has managed several programs and projects across different industries such as: Government, Mining, Construction, Telecomm, Financial Services, Information Technology and Development Projects among others.
Currently he is the Managing Director of Practical Thinking Group and additionally he acts as Project Management Advisor with the United Nations Office of Project Services (UNOPS).
A Colombian and Mexican citizen, resident of the U.S. and Chile, Mr. Triana has lived and worked in several countries during the last 20 years. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese; intermediate level in French and Italian and has basic knowledge of Greek and Latin. He holds a BSA with focus on language and pedagogy. He is also a certified facilitator to improve communication and reduce conflict through the SDI – Strength Deployment Inventory- and has completed a program on Authentic Leadership Development from Harvard University.
An active volunteer with PMO, Mr. Triana is a graduate of PMI Leadership Master Class, and has held volunteer leadership positions with local and global communities, standards projects and PMI congresses. Ricardo was a member of PMI Global Board of Directors for 2010-2015 and was its Chairman during 2014
